Our culture has confusing and often negative attitudes toward sexual pleasure, leaving us little good education on the subject. This class will delve into the pleasure skills that we may never have learned. Issues discussed will include pleasure for various genders, pleasure enhancement devices and skills, the health benefits of pleasure, several sexual response models, and how intimacy and pleasure interact. Therapists, health practitioners, and educators alike will have a broader view of pleasure and be able to offer practical suggestions to students, clients, or patients. Safer sex when using toys is also covered. This is a fun and interactive class, divulging insights about ourselves as well as the populations that we serve. For details please see learning objectives.

By the end of this course participants will be able to:

List 5 common complaints related to orgasm, sensual play, & sex toys.
Describe how to tweak 4 common sexual acts to feel new and different based on what the client currently does.
Compare & contrast 4 different types of orgasms and different ways to experience each.
Evaluate the appropriateness of different sex toys based on clients’ & students’ preferences and needs.
